Audio 4 Dec [Flash 9 is required to listen to audio.]

This is the first rough-cut of what could potentially become the sound track / background loop for Hippo vs Zombies; I need input on what everybody thinks of it so I can pass the feedback on to the artist I am working with who created it.

Text 31 Oct 2 notes Nerdist Episode

The episode of the Nerdist podcast taped at the Academy of Sciences was finally posted and you can hear me at the end of it.
You should totes listen to the entire thing, but if you just need to hear my voice, you can skip to 1:05:00 and I start somewhen around there.

The picture is the link.

Photo 9 Oct 2 notes I installed a nightly build on the Asus eeePad Transformer floor model at Office Depot. It ran fantastically.

Deathimmortal a.k.a. Dr. Cakefarts submitted our first bit of fan art; hopefully the first of many.

Photo 24 Aug 1 note Would you play a game that looked like this?Since I’ve had such low artist responses I’ve started considering alternative art schemes for the game. As I figure it, I am a good photographer (#humblebrag) and I can sketch with my hands on paper; but I can’t produce digital art with any consistent quality. So, here is a combination of what I can do.From first glance, it looks like it needs more contrast; so that’s on my agenda.Suggestions? Comments? Quemments?(Click on the image for a larger view)

I got Hippo vs Zombies running on iOS tonight!
That means that we now support seven platforms with one codebase!

  • iOS
  • Android (and theoretically Google TV)
  • BlackBerry Playbook
  • Windows (AIR)
  • OS X (AIR)
  • Linux (AIR)
  • Browser (Flash)

I love the Adobe AIR platform!

The only devices that aren’t supported are HP’s webOS and Windows Phone 7, but since HP has discontinued support of webOS I’m not worried.

It would be nice if there was a way to compile a build for the XBox-360 and PS3 consoles. Perhaps with a branch of Alchemy it will someday be possible.

Photo 20 Aug One codebase three screens.
With using nothing but different build targets I have been able to get Hippo vs Zombies to run on iOS, Android and as an AIR app on my laptop.
There aren’t any super-intense CPU heavy things going on in the game, but I haven’t noticed any performance issues on any device as of yet.

Text 13 Aug Nerdist Quemment

In an attempt to build some stir around the game I posted a quemment on nerdist.com in hopes to eventually sponsor an episode of the Nerdist podcast to promote Hippo vs Zombies.

They will be doing a live recording of the show at the Academy of Sciences Nightlife on August 18th during SF Sketchfest week. I hope to approach Big-C about that.
